Florida Organic Growers (FOG) and community stakeholders undertook a community food planning project March 2009 to Nov. 2010 to discuss food systems planning with a specific focus on community food security for low-income residents. The resulting report, entitled Community Vision for Food System Development in Gainesville-Alachua County: A Local Food Action Plan, will support future efforts, and can also serve as a model for other communities seeking to increase community food security. From 1998 to 2005, FOG worked with numerous local partners to operate a nationally recognized, multi-faceted community food program known as Neighborhood Nutrition Network (NNN).
